Zurri was founded by two young childhood friends — Fortune Maleba, with roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Kamo Shasha, of Lesotho heritage. Growing up together in Johannesburg South, South Africa, they shared more than a neighbourhood — they shared a deep pride in their African identity.
Surrounded by the richness of diverse cultures, languages, and traditions, they saw first-hand how Africa's finest products — from shea butter and spices to handcrafted cosmetics and textiles — were often overlooked on the global stage.
Zurri was born from a simple conviction: Africa doesn't just compete — it leads. What started as a dream between two friends has grown into a platform dedicated to amplifying African excellence, one product at a time.
